The place for project runway season 6 episode 3 news and project runway season 6 episode 3 facts
This morning when I looked in my DVR I found Project Runway, Season 4 Episode 6, waiting for me. I felt excited as I pressed the "play" button on my remote and the Project Runway logo appeared in front of my face. I found myself particularly excited about this episode of Project Runway, titled Eye Candy, to see just what each designer would produce. Here is a brief summary of this Project Runway episode and how I feel about the winner, the loser, and all of those in between.
Project Runway Season 4 Episode 6: Eye Candy
What Happened?
WARNING: Contains spoiler, read with caution.
In this Project Runway episode titled "Eye Candy" the designers were faced with the challenge of making fashionable clothing out of items found in Hershey's located in Times Square. The designers were given five minutes to "grab what they can" to use as the material for their runway outfits. This challenge wasn't much of a shock as Project Runway has been known to offer some insane challenges to the fashion designers through the previous seasons. Given the interesting challenge I couldn't wait to see what each fashion designer would come up with using the various pieces of candy, plastic bags, and fabric from pillows found in the Hershey's store. Here is what each designer did.
Christian
Christian has consistently been good enough in design and quality to be included in the top three or at least included in the "safe" group. It was no surprise to find that Christian would be safe yet again this week on Project Runway. Christian decided to play it safe this week and therefore found himself in the "safe" group yet again. Christian's design while designed from a great idea and well put together just didn't have enough "pizzaz" to land him in the top three this week. Working with the brown wrapper found around miniature Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Christian constructed a dress that appeared both classic and tasteful. However his classic design wasn't enough to place him in the "Top Three" this week on Project Runway.
Kevin
Kevin is probably one of the lesser known of fashion designers on Project Runway this season. It appears that Kevin is often blended into the background of the work room, rather than receiving a lot of time in front of the camera. Kevin is another designer whose mediocre work lands him in the "safe" group week after week. This week Kevin designed a silver and brown outfit complete with a shiny silver top, brown jacket, and brown skirt. The look is classy but, like Christian's dress, just didn't have enough "pizzaz" to win the Project Runway's judges over.
Kit
Kit stands out as a fashion designer on Project Runway. Her designs are often more quirky and more interesting than that of the other competing designers. Her outfits are often memorable making Kit one of the judge's favorites most weeks. This week Kit designed a playful dress using the Kit Kat, imagine that, and Hershey logos. While Kit's runway outfit certainly stood out from most of the other designer's runway outfits, it didn't do enough for the judges to have them consider it for the top three.
Ricky
Ricky has been in danger of being kicked off quite a few times in the beginning of this season's Project Runway. However it seems that as of late, Ricky has been making a sort of a comeback and is a true contender in this season's competition. The dress was made out of mostly silver material with a poof skirt made from silver material and brown Hershey's logos. While simple in design, the dress was well made and wasn't too over the top. However the simplicity in design was the most likely reason Ricky found himself in the "safe" group this week.
And now for the Top Three designers...
Chris
Chris received a lucky break while Jack received bad news. Chris who had been kicked off of Project Runway for an awful design in Episode 4 was given a second chance in Episode 5, due to Jack having to leave the show for medical reasons. Besides Episode 4 and his awful design, Chris has often been included in the "safe" group of fashion designers each episode. This week however Chris found himself in the "Top Three" designer group for his Hershey's "pop art" dress. The dress was made mainly from brown Hershey's pillow fabric. While the dress was well put together and designed, it wasn't daring or dazzling enough to land Chris a win this week on Project Runway.
Jillian
Jillian appears to be a judge favorite and most certainly is a designer to watch out for this season of Project Runway. Jillian is often in the "safe" and "Top Three" groups and may be one of the most likely designers to make it to Bryant Park in the end. This week Jillian decided to be daring by choosing actual candy, Twizzlers to be exact, to incorporate into her outfit. The decision to use candy made this week's Project Runway challenge even more challenging for this designer. Whether or not Jillian's outfit would withstand a walk down the runway had me biting my nails. Luckily for Jillian, her outfit made it down the runway and back without so much as a single Twizzler falling off. Apparently this miraculous fete was enough to land Jillian a spot in the group of "Top Three" designers this episode. However, it did not impress the judge's enough for a win.
And the winner is...
Rami
Rami is perhaps considered to be the best designer on Project Runway this season. His outfits are always well designed and well put together, making his a judge favorite and a regular in the "Top Three" group of designers. Rami's dress was constructed from a rather busy design, however it was well put together as expected, landing him the win for this episode of Project Runway.
And the Bottom Three Designers are...
Victorya
Victorya is often like Kevin and doesn't spend much time in the spotlight, with exception of episode 4 of Project Runway and her attitude towards Ricky. Victorya is often found in the "safe" group as her designs often do not stand out from the rest. This week's dress design by Victorya was quite "kooky" and left the judge's wondering what she was thinking. Lucky for Victorya the judges showed mercy on her and allowed her to advance to next week.
Sweet P
Sweet P often appears confused and scrambling to complete her designs and is one of the weaker of contestants in this season of Project Runway. Sweet P is a staple in the "Bottom Three" category of designers because of poor construction issues and creativity issues as well. It came as no surprise that Sweet P was yet again the "Bottom Three" this week as she presented an outfit that lacked any character or real design. Sweet P's dress was actually a second outfit she constructed because she did not like the outcome of her first attempt. Sweet P narrowly escaped being kicked off this week.
And now we must say Auf Wiedersehen to...Elisa
It was only a matter of time until we had to say goodbye to Elisa. Elisa has been one of the most "interesting" of designers. Her most memorable moment in Project Runway Season 4 history is when she mentioned using spit to mark her fabrics. Elisa had often included herself in the "Bottom Three" designers because of her poor outfit designs. Still she was fun to watch. Unfortunately for her, Elisa finally did herself in this week with an awful brown dress and poofy silver detached arm cuffs. The design lacked imagination and didn't impress the judges. Because of her poorly designed dress Elisa has found herself kicked off of Project Runway this week.
As an avid watcher of Project Runway there are times when I disagree with the judge's decision for both winner and loser of each competition. This week was one of those week's that left me scratching my head wondering what the judges were thinking. Here are my thoughts on who the winner and loser should have been this week on Project Runway.
Winner: Jillian
Jillian was risky as she chose to incorporate actual candy into her outfit. This risky move would have made her the winner in my eyes. Not only was she risky in choosing Twizzler candy as part of her design, but she transformed the candy into a stunning and wearable outfit that outshined the outfits of her competition. While Rami presented the judges with a beautifully designed dress as well, Jillian's willingness to take a risk pushes her over the edge and makes her my Project Runway Season 4 Episode 6 winner.
Loser: Sweet P
While I can certainly agree with the judges that Elisa's dress was depressing and not at all "avant-garde", I don't think that it warranted her departure from the show just yet. Sweet P has continually shown the judges that she is incompetent at completing an outfit that is wearable and constructed well. Her most memorable fashion disaster was the shirt she made for the Episode 3 challenge of designing an outfit for Tiki Barber. Still Sweet P remains in the competition. I'm not too worried however. As the weeks go by, there are less and less of the weak links to be picked off, and eventually we will be left with only the best of designers on the Project Runway show. I have a feeling that Sweet P should enjoy herself this week, as it is likely to be her last.
